Rondout Valley Rolls to Win
 

KYSERIKE — Rondout Valley High rolled to a 58-18 victory over Ellenville in a Section 9 wrestling match on Friday. The Ganders took all but three bouts in the win.

 

Winners in contested matches included John Hodes (112 pounds), Brandon Lewis (119), Ian Morse (135), Bryan McLean (140), Maxx Stratton (145), Dash Stratton (152) and John Kelder (160). Amiel Maerling took the 171 bout for the Blue Devils. 

 

 

Rondout goes 4-5 in dual meet event

PINE BUSH — Rondout Valley High wrestling team went

4-5 at the dual meet tournament held on Sunday at Pine Bush High.

 

The Ganders defeated Kingston, Washingtonville, Highland and Iona Prep and lost to John Jay, Pine Bush, Beacon, Arlington and Monsignor Farrell.

John Hodes went a perfect 9-0 with seven pins in the 112-pound weight class to lead Rondout. Collin Dimler was 8-1 with seven pins at 125, while Maxx Stratton (145) and Brandon Lewis (119) both went 7-2.

Wrestlers going 6-3 included Paul Sommer (135) and John Kelder (171), and Rodney Harding (96), Ian Mores (130) were both 5-4.

Others competing were Jonathan Nace (103), Bryan McLean (140), James Roebuck (152), Dash Stratton (160), Christian Santiago, Seth Woodbury and Devon Pullman.

PORT JERVIS — Rondout Valley High had a strong outing at the Port Jervis Tri-State Holiday wrestling tournament Saturday with two champions and seven second-place finishes.

 

Jon Nace won the 103-pound class for the Ganders via two pins, while Bryan McLean tied for first place at 140 with a 4-1 record.

 

Runner-up awards went to Brandon Lewis (112), Collin Dimler (125), Paul Sommer (130), Ian Morse (135), Maxx Stratton (145), John Kelder (160) and Dash Stratton (171). All but Lewis went 4-1 in the tourney. He won two of his three matches.

 

 

Rondout Valley Wrestling Win

WALLKILL — Rondout Valley High held on for a 38-31 victory against Wallkill in a Section 9 match Monday.

The Ganders (2-2) showed their mettle in the lower and middle weight classes, taking seven of eight matches from 103 to 145 pounds.

Paul Sommer (130), Bryan McLean (140), Jon Kelder (171) and Brandon Lewis (112) were among the winners for Rondout.

Jose McCord (152) and Kyle Fredricks (189) had wins by fall for the Panthers
